Donate to T-cell Therapies
T-cells are the body’s defense against foreign invaders, and the mutations in tumor cells make them “foreign” to the body. The cancer, however, has developed ways to hide from T-cells. Unlike chemotherapy and radiation that “poison” cancer cells and normal cells alike, T-cells can be “educated” to recognize and find only tumor cells. So, they are potent AND specific, the ‘holy grail’ of cancer therapy.
Current T-cell therapy is effective, but expensive, need major hospitals, and require companion treatments that are toxic. For that reason, their likely use will be limited to when other treatments have failed.
The next generation of T-cell therapies being developed are inexpensive and non-toxic because they require no companion treatments. Once approved, they can be used in an outpatient clinic..
This next generation of T cell products is designed for first line therapy. For these reasons, AIM-HI is looking for support to help accelerate this approach of innovative T-Cell Therapies.
