Leon Toussaint, Ph.D., is a Scientific Program Manager at the AIM-HI Accelerator Fund, where he supports the scientific evaluation, management, and advancement of innovative cancer research programs and translational efforts in collaboration with the National Foundation for Cancer Research (NFCR). He works at the intersection of translational science, scientific due diligence, and strategic program development, helping identify and accelerate promising discoveries from the laboratory toward clinical application.

Dr. Toussaint brings more than 20 years of robust experience in the biomedical sciences, divided equally between academic research and the biotechnology industry. He has overseen complex portfolios in oncology, immunology, translational research, and biomarker development. Previously, he held scientific management and leadership positions at Advanced Bioscience Laboratories (ABL), Champions Oncology, and FlowMetric Life Sciences (KCAS Bio). In these roles, he led bioanalytical initiatives, directed high-complexity immune monitoring strategies, and contributed to regulatory and translational pipelines supporting preclinical and clinical trial operations. He has extensive experience evaluating data integrity, assessing scientific rigor, and supporting multidisciplinary research portfolios.

Dr. Toussaint earned his Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences and Immunology from Brown University’s Pathobiology program and completed his postdoctoral training at Cornell University. He has co-authored numerous peer-reviewed publications spanning immunology, infectious disease, neuroinflammation, and the intersection of metabolic and neurodegenerative pathologies, and is committed to advancing innovative science that improves outcomes for patients worldwide.
